One Punch An Season 2 Episode 3

Okay, let's talk One Punch Man Season 2, Episode 3. Specifically, let's talk about why I kinda… liked it? Yeah, I said it.

The Monster Association's Messy Meeting

The big bads are having a conference call. Think evil executives, but with more scales and fewer ties. They're discussing strategy. It's surprisingly relatable, if you replace world domination with quarterly reports.

They're worried about Saitama. Understandably so. Who wouldn't be?

There's infighting! And bickering! Classic bad guy stuff. Maybe conquering the world isn't all it's cracked up to be when you're stuck with these guys. I mean, could you imagine sharing a workspace with some of these characters?

Garou's Glorious (but Grumpy) Hunt

Ah, Garou. Our favorite hero-obsessed villain-in-training. He's out hunting heroes. He's dedicated, I'll give him that.

He's also incredibly grumpy. Someone needs a nap. Maybe a juice cleanse?

His fight scenes were actually pretty cool. Even if they weren't Saitama level, they had some oomph. I appreciate the effort, Garou!

The "Unpopular" Opinion: It Wasn't That Bad

Okay, I know, I know. Season 2 gets a lot of flak. Especially compared to the legendary Season 1.

But this episode? It had its moments. It was setting things up! Foundation building! World-expanding!

Maybe I'm easily amused, but I found the monster's meeting legitimately funny. Their complaints about hero strength, their internal power struggles... it felt like a dark workplace comedy. A workplace that wants to destroy humanity, but still.

Plus, any episode with Garou gets a few points in my book. The guy's got style. And a serious hero complex. Which is strangely endearing.

Sure, the animation wasn't always top-notch. And maybe the pacing felt a little slow at times. But overall, it was a decent episode.

It introduced new characters. We see the heroes getting scared of Garou. It gave us insight into the Monster Association. It moved the plot forward (albeit slowly).

Maybe I'm just a glass-half-full kinda person. Or maybe I just really like monsters arguing about office politics. Who knows?

I think people were expecting Saitama to punch everything into oblivion every single episode. Which, let's be honest, would get boring after a while.

Sometimes, you need a little setup. A little world-building. A little monster conference call to appreciate the moments Saitama does show up and obliterate everything. Right?
