Okay, let's talk Only Murders In The Building Season 1. We all binged it, right? I have some thoughts, and maybe, just maybe, some slightly controversial opinions.
Episode 1: "True Crime" - Setting the Stage
The pilot episode was perfect. It hooked us instantly. The building felt mysterious.
We meet Charles, Oliver, and Mabel. Three strangers. Bound by a love of true crime podcasts and a sudden, well, murder.
Episode 2: "Who Is Tim Kono?" - Digging Deeper
This episode introduces us to the victim, Tim Kono. He's not exactly the most beloved guy in the building, is he? Secrets galore.
We start to see our trio's detective skills, or lack thereof, in action. It's endearingly clumsy.
Unpopular opinion: I was way more interested in Mabel's backstory than Tim Kono at this point.
Episode 3: "How Well Do You Know Your Neighbors?" - Suspects Galore
Hello, potential suspects! Everyone in the Arconia seems to have a motive. Or at least a weird quirk.
Oliver's financial woes add a comedic layer. He is desperate for podcast success.
My favorite part? The secret elevator. So dramatic!
Episode 4: "The Sting" - A Risky Move
The trio attempts a sting operation. Predictably, it goes hilariously wrong.
Charles's acting background comes in handy, sort of. He has a difficult time remembering things.
Is it just me, or was the bassoon player a little too suspicious? Just saying.
Episode 5: "Twist" - A Major Revelation
Big reveal! Mabel knew Tim Kono. dun dun dun!
Flashbacks give us crucial context. Their past friendship is explored.
I actually gasped. Okay, maybe a little dramatically. But still!
Episode 6: "To Protect and Serve" - Police Involvement
The police get involved, or at least pretend to. Detective Williams isn't exactly helpful initially.
Oliver's son helps with the podcast. The technology isn't his strongest area.
Unpopular opinion alert: I found the police scenes a bit slow compared to the rest.
Episode 7: "The Boy from 6B" - A Silent Episode
This is the silent episode. A bold move!
We follow Theo Dimas. His perspective on the situation.
It was surprisingly effective. Really showcased the acting.
Episode 8: "Fan Fiction" - Obsession Takes Over
Podcast obsession reaches new heights. Fans are getting a little too involved.
Charles's girlfriend gets a bit too close. Her interest feels sus.
The fan theories were pretty spot-on, though. Kudos to the fans!
Episode 9: "Double Time" - Another Layer of Deception
More secrets are uncovered. The plot thickens like a poorly made stew.
Jan, Charles's girlfriend, becomes more suspicious. Her behavior is questionable.
I was yelling at my TV. "Don't trust her, Charles!"
Episode 10: "Open and Shut" - The Finale! (Or Is It?)
The killer is revealed! Jan! Shocker, right?
The confrontation is intense. Full of twists and turns.
But wait, there's another murder! Cliffhanger!
Overall, Season 1 of Only Murders In The Building was brilliant. A perfect blend of comedy, mystery, and heart. Can't wait for more!
