Okay, let's talk about Our Love Has Always Been 10 Centimeters Apart. You know, that anime everyone seems to adore?
The Ten Centimeter Mystery
Don't get me wrong, the art is gorgeous. Hats off to the animators, seriously. But am I the only one who finds the "will they/won't they" a little...stretched?
I mean, 10 centimeters! That's, like, the length of a chapstick. They're practically breathing the same air!
Episode Fatigue
Each episode felt like a slow burn. Like, REALLY slow. We get it, they're shy. But 10 centimeters apart for twelve whole episodes?
I started counting how many times they almost held hands. It became a drinking game. (Please drink responsibly!).
Seriously though, the emotional tension was thicker than peanut butter. It felt unnecessarily drawn out.
The Side Characters Stealing the Show
Honestly, the side characters were more interesting to me. They had their own little dramas going on.
The main couple felt so… deliberate. Like they were following a script. Give me a chaotic best friend any day!
I'd happily watch a spin-off series about the quirky art club members. Someone, make it happen!
Unpopular Opinion Time!
Brace yourselves. I think the premise is a tad…overrated. There, I said it! Prepare for the backlash!
I get the symbolism. Distance, hesitation, blah blah blah. But at some point, I just wanted them to actually get closer.
Is that too much to ask? Perhaps I'm just impatient.
The Endless Stare
Remember all those longing stares? The significant glances? They could power a small city!
After a while, it felt repetitive. Like, yes, we see the connection. Now do something!
My internal monologue was screaming, "JUST TALK ALREADY!"
The Climax That Wasn't...Quite
The ending was cute. I'll give them that. But did it justify the preceding episodes of agonizing closeness?
It felt...underwhelming. Like a balloon slowly deflating instead of popping with confetti.
Maybe my expectations were too high. Maybe I'm just a cynical romantic.
In Conclusion (Sort Of)
Look, Our Love Has Always Been 10 Centimeters Apart is a pretty anime. The music is lovely.
It's just...not my cup of tea. I prefer my romances with a little less…centimeters.
But hey, to each their own! If you loved it, that's awesome! Just don't judge me for wanting a little more action (and less staring).
Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm off to find an anime where the characters can, you know, actually touch each other.
Just kidding... mostly!
