Okay, Let's Talk Rent-A-Girlfriend S2 Ep1...
So, Rent-A-Girlfriend Season 2 dropped, and episode one is...well, it's something. We're back with Kazuya and his chaotic dating life. Buckle up, buttercups!
It pretty much picks up where we left off. Lots of awkwardness. Lots of internal monologues from Kazuya. And, of course, Chizuru being the best (rental) girlfriend ever.
My Unpopular Opinion Alert!
I'm just gonna say it: I'm not completely hating on Kazuya. I know, I know! Blasphemy!
Everyone loves to rag on him, and yeah, he makes terrible decisions. But haven't we all been there? Maybe not the "rent-a-girlfriend" part, but the awkward-trying-to-impress-someone part?
He's a bit relatable in a trainwreck sort of way. Don't @ me.
The Return of the (Rental) Queen
Let's be real, the best part of the episode is seeing Chizuru again. She's smart, capable, and actually cares, even if she tries to hide it.
Her acting skills are on point. Honestly, if she weren't a rental, she'd be winning awards. I mean, she already is winning in our hearts, right?
Seriously though, how does she put up with Kazuya? That's the real mystery. Maybe she's secretly enjoying the chaos?
The Grandma Factor
The grandmas are still the best side characters. So supportive and hilariously meddling. They are the best wing women.
They really want Kazuya and Chizuru to be together. Grandma's know best, right? Let's hope they don't find out the truth behind the relationship.
Imagine the fallout! The awkwardness level would skyrocket to a whole new dimension.
New Character Alert! (Kind Of)
We get a glimpse of Ruka, and, uh, she's still intense. Let's just say she hasn't mellowed out. Prepare for more aggressive displays of affection.
She wants Kazuya badly. I get it, she is cute. But her methods are... questionable. Is borderline-stalking attractive?
Poor Kazuya is just trying to survive. Good luck, buddy. You're gonna need it.
Overall Thoughts?
Episode one is a solid start to the season. It sets the stage for more drama, more awkwardness, and hopefully, some character development.
I am interested to see how Kazuya will navigate the season. I would give anything to see him improve. And maybe even confess his real feelings.
Will Chizuru and Kazuya ever become a real couple? Will Ruka ever give up? Will Kazuya ever stop tripping over himself? Only time will tell! But I know one thing: I'll be watching (and probably cringing) every step of the way.
What did you think of episode 1? Let me know in the comments! Am I the only one who doesn't completely despise Kazuya? Spill the tea!
