Okay, let’s talk All Stars 5. Specifically, THAT episode. The one with the branding challenge. Remember?
Crème de la Crème or Crème de la…Mess?
The branding challenge was… something. Each queen had to create a product and commercial. Some soared. Others crashed and burned. Like, epic level bonfire of wigs and desperation.
Honestly, sometimes I think RuPaul just throws these challenges in to see which queen can handle the pressure. And which one will completely crack under the weight of eyeshadow and expectations.
Alexis Mateo's 'All Star Eleganza'
I love Alexis Mateo. Truly. She's fierce. She's funny. But, um, that "All Star Eleganza" perfume? It felt a little... generic, right?
I feel like I've smelled that scent at every auntie’s house in the world. Sorry, but I expected more pizzazz from such a legendary queen!
Shea Couleé’s Shea Couléé Brand
Shea Couléé, on the other hand? Total boss. Her Shea Couléé Brand was everything! Sophisticated, chic, and totally believable. I would buy anything she was selling.
She really understood the assignment. She know her brand. Flawless!
The Snatch Game of Love... Love It?
Then we had the "Snatch Game of Love". Oh boy. All Stars Snatch Games are always hit or miss. It either gives you legendary moments, or makes you want to fast-forward.
Some of the choices were interesting, to say the least. Let’s just say, not every queen picked a character that played to their strengths.
India Ferrah: The Villain Edit?
Now, let's get to the real tea. India Ferrah stirring up drama. Accusations flying faster than glitter in a wind tunnel.
I’m not going to lie. I love a little drama. But the whole storyline felt… manufactured? Like someone really wanted that villain edit. Don't you think?
Was it a genuine misunderstanding? Or a calculated move? We'll probably never truly know. But it definitely spiced things up.
The Lip Sync for Your Legacy
The lip sync? Okay, I gotta be honest here. Not my favorite. The song choice was… questionable. And the energy felt a little… lacking?
Don’t get me wrong, both queens are amazing performers. But the spark just wasn't there for me. I’ve seen better lip syncs in my local dive bar.
An Unpopular Opinion (Maybe?)
Here’s where I might lose some of you. Are you ready? I think this episode was… overrated. There, I said it!
Yes, there were some memorable moments. But overall, it felt a little messy. The drama felt forced, the lip sync fell flat, and some of the branding was… questionable.
Don’t get me wrong, I still love All Stars 5. But this particular episode? It's not one I’d put on repeat. Sorry not sorry.
But hey, that's just my opinion. And we all know what they say about opinions… they're like RuPaul’s wig collection: everyone’s got one, and some are better than others.
What do you think? Am I totally off base? Or do you secretly agree with my unpopular opinion?
