Okay, let's talk Kaguya-sama: Love is War Season 2. We all loved it, right? But... I have some thoughts.
A Confession: Season 2 Gave Me the Feels (But...)
Everyone praises Season 2. The animation, the humor, the drama! It definitely upped the ante.
But maybe, just maybe, it peaked a little too early? Hear me out!
The Culture Festival: Peak Perfection?
The Culture Festival arc? Legendary. Ishigami's backstory? Gut-wrenching and beautiful.
Kaguya and Shirogane getting closer? So sweet it gave me a toothache. Seriously, that arc was amazing.
However, did everything else measure up afterwards? I'm not so sure.
Unpopular Opinion Alert!
Is it just me, or did the later episodes feel... different? It wasn't bad, but the intensity dipped.
The bar was set so ridiculously high! Maintaining that level of perfection is practically impossible.
Maybe I'm nitpicking. Maybe I'm just greedy. But that festival was something special, it's difficult to follow.
The Supporting Cast Shined (Maybe Too Brightly?)
Don't get me wrong, I adore the side characters. Chika is chaotic perfection.
Ishigami deserves all the happiness in the world. Even Miko Iino has her moments!
But sometimes it felt like they stole the spotlight. Was Kaguya and Shirogane getting a little sidelined?
The power couple is why we're all here. And the plot to get them to confess.
The Third Wheel Factor
Chika's antics are hilarious. Her random appearances at unexpected moments, just plain funny.
However, sometimes her interventions felt like interruptions. Anyone else feel this way?
I love you Chika but seriously, can we have a Kaguya-Shirogane moment!
Still a Masterpiece, Just... Imperfect?
Look, Kaguya-sama: Love is War Season 2 is fantastic. I'm not saying it isn't.
It's hilarious, heartwarming, and beautifully animated. The confession between Kaguya and Shirogane is perfect.
It's just that maybe, just maybe, it wasn't *perfectly* perfect all the way through. I'm not sorry to say.
A Final Thought
So, am I alone in thinking this? Or are there others out there who feel the same way?
Let me know your thoughts! Let's debate this over some virtual ramen or cake.
Maybe I'm just overthinking things. But hey, that's what makes fandoms fun, right?
Season 2 is still a banger, and I’m glad to have seen it, but the bar was so high I think many agree when I say, Season 1 wins.
Fight me in the comments!
