Okay, let's talk about something potentially controversial. Something that might make some anime fans clutch their pearls. It's about the My Hero Academia dub, specifically Season 3.
Was Season 3 the Best of the Dub? Hear Me Out...
I know, I know. Season 2 had the Sports Festival. Everyone loves the Sports Festival! But maybe, just maybe, Season 3 brought something special to the table for us dub watchers.
Think about it. Season 3 is where things got really intense. Remember the Forest Training Camp arc? Crazy, right?
The Villains Got a Voice
The League of Villains really started to shine in Season 3. And the dub absolutely nailed it. Tomura Shigaraki's voice actor? Chills!
Seriously, the subtle creepiness? The barely controlled rage? Perfect. It gave Shigaraki a whole new level of depth, at least for me.
Plus, we got introduced to some other cool villains. Himiko Toga anyone? Her voice was just the right amount of cute and terrifying. A perfect combo!
All Might's Defining Moment (in English!)
Let's not forget about All Might's epic battle with All For One. That fight was amazing in any language, obviously. But the English dub hit differently.
The emotion in All Might's voice? I felt it in my soul. It made that moment even more impactful, I think.
Like, seriously, I got goosebumps. And maybe teared up a little. Don't judge me!
The Kids Are Growing Up (and Sounding Great)
By Season 3, the voice actors for Deku and the rest of Class 1-A had really settled into their roles. They felt natural.
It felt like we were watching these kids actually grow and develop. And their voices reflected that. The emotions felt genuine!
Think about Bakugo's temper. Perfectly captured! Or Uraraka's determination. You could feel it in her voice!
Okay, Okay, I Get It...It's Subjective
I know this is all subjective. Some people prefer the sub. Others think Season 2 was the dub's peak. That's totally fine!
But for me, Season 3 of the My Hero Academia dub just clicked. It had the right balance of action, emotion, and amazing voice acting.
Plus, seeing the villains come into their own? Chef's kiss! It made the whole experience even more memorable.
Maybe it's just me. Maybe I'm completely wrong. But I stand by my (possibly) unpopular opinion. Season 3 was the best dub season.
So, what do you think? Am I totally off base? Let me know!
