The Secret Weapon: Google Takeout
Our secret weapon is something called Google Takeout. Think of it as your personal data excavation tool, provided by the good folks at Google themselves. It's like they know we're all a little bit nosy about our own digital footprint!
Head over to the Google Takeout website. (Just Google "Google Takeout" – it's the first result, I promise!) You might need to log in to your Google account, the one you use for YouTube.
Now comes the fun part! You'll be presented with a laundry list of Google services. Don't panic! We're not going to download your entire life. Click "Deselect all" – this is crucial! We only want YouTube, after all.
Scroll down (or use the handy Ctrl+F/Cmd+F function) until you find YouTube and YouTube Music. Check the box next to it. Eureka!

Once you receive the email, download the .zip file. Extract it to a folder on your computer.
Inside, you'll find a folder (probably named something like "YouTube and YouTube Music"). Navigate to YouTube > Subscriptions.
Behold! A file named subscriptions.json. Don't be scared! It's just a text file with a fancy name. You can open it with any text editor (Notepad on Windows, TextEdit on Mac).
This file contains all the juicy details. Look for the name of the channel you're interested in. You'll find a date and time right next to it, telling you exactly when you subscribed!
It might look a little bit like gibberish at first, but just scan the document for the channel name and look for the date. It will be something like "2023-10-27T14:30:00Z".
