Supporting Players Who Steal the Show
What about Fiona, Thony's sister-in-law, played by Martha Millan? She's the rock, always there for Thony and the kids. I kind of want her as my own sister-in-law.
And let’s not forget the kids! Sebastien & Valentino LaSalle play Luca, Thony's son. They are just so cute!
Then there's Naveen Andrews. Yep, of Lost fame, as Robert Kamdar. He plays the new antagonist. I find the change of pace interesting.
Unpopular Opinions (Maybe?)
Okay, here’s where things get a little spicy. I think Arman's character arc was...complicated. He did bad stuff, but we were still supposed to root for him?
I think Garrett Miller (Oliver Hudson) is annoying. I just don’t buy his whole "trying to be a good guy" act. Sue me!
Does anyone else think Robert Kamdar, felt a little... forced? It's like they needed a new villain and just plucked one from central casting.
I will say, I love the found family aspect of the show. Thony and Fiona's relationship is a highlight. They would do anything for each other!
Casting Kudos
Élodie Yung *is* Thony. There's no question about it. She brings so much heart and strength to the role.
The casting director deserves a raise for finding the kids. They are so natural on screen.
Seriously, Martha Millan as Fiona is perfect. She's the grounding force the show needs.
Final Thoughts
The Cleaning Lady has a great cast, hands down. Even if some of the characters make me roll my eyes. I still tune in every week!
The show balances the dark and gritty with moments of genuine warmth. That's not easy to do. Plus, I am intrigued what would happen to Thony.
