Anya is the star, obviously. Her ESP powers and adorable reactions make the show. But the English dub...hmm.

The Japanese Anya has a unique, almost childlike innocence in her voice. The English version is cute, don't get me wrong.

Perhaps the translation didn’t fully capture her thought processes. Like how she understand things but can not process the context behind it.

Yor's Killer Instinct (Pun Intended!)

Yor is a force of nature. A gentle assassin who can kick butt and look good doing it.

Her English voice actress captured the duality well. That sweet, clueless exterior masking a deadly interior. Brilliant!

Though, personally, I think both version is equally good at portraying Yor.

The Verdict: Dubbed or Subbed?

Ultimately, it boils down to personal preference. Are you a purist? Stick with the subbed version.

Want something easy to watch while folding laundry? The English dub is your friend.

The action sequences were still exciting. The comedy still landed. The overall heart of the show shone through, regardless of the language.

I think the English voice actor did an exceptional job delivering that "poker face" with perfect comedic timing. He is basically a human meme at this point.

This episode had some good moments. Especially the interaction between Loid and Anya. It's wholesome and hilarious.

The English dub brought out a different flavor. A flavor I surprisingly enjoyed. Maybe it’s the accent? Who knows.
