Okay, let's talk about *That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime* episode 22. You know, that one.
I have a confession. I think it's…dare I say… underrated?
Maybe it's just me. But hear me out. I might have an unpopular opinion here.
The Calm Before the Storm (and My Lunch)
So, everyone's gearing up for the big battle. They're training hard. It's the typical "power up" episode.
It's mostly talking and strategizing. To me, it's kind of…relaxing? Like watching a cooking show before a big party. You know the party is coming, but you can enjoy the calm before the storm.
Rimuru is, as always, planning five steps ahead. Man, that slime is seriously smart. Like, suspiciously smart.
Gobta, the Underdog We All Secretly Root For
Let's be honest, Gobta is a precious goofball. He tries so hard, bless his little heart.
Watching him train is hilarious. He's the anime equivalent of that one friend who's always late and trips over everything, but you love him anyway.
But there's something endearing about his dedication. He's the underdog. We’re always waiting for him to surprise everyone.
That moment when he gets a little power boost? Yes! Go, Gobta, go!
Shuna's Fashion Show (Sort Of)
Okay, Shuna is adorable and terrifying all at once. Seriously, don't mess with her.
Her fashion sense is impeccable. Though I'm not sure how practical those outfits are for battle.
But hey, if you're going to fight demons, you might as well look fabulous while doing it, right?
Why I Think It's Great (Even Though Nothing "Really" Happens)
Some people might call it a "filler" episode. Just setting things up.
But I disagree! It's character development! It's world-building! It's…cute monsters being cute!
It's a chance to breathe before things get crazy. Appreciate the characters and their bonds. Prepare for the battles ahead.
And honestly, sometimes I just need a break from all the intense action. I like to see them just hang out and be friends.
The episode allows to appreciate how far Rimuru and his companions have come. How the community has evolved.
Don't get me wrong, I love the action scenes too. But I also appreciate the quieter moments. The moments that make the characters feel real.
So, Am I Crazy?
Maybe. Probably. But I stand by my unpopular opinion. Episode 22 is a gem.
It's the comfort food of anime episodes. Warm, familiar, and slightly cheesy. What's not to love?
So next time you're re-watching Slime, give episode 22 another chance. You might just find yourself enjoying it more than you thought.
Or, you know, you can disagree with me. That's fine too. But I'll still be over here, enjoying my comfy slime episode.
But at least we can all agree that That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime is awesome. Right?
I mean, who doesn't like a powerful slime building a monster nation? It's a winning formula. Thank you Fuse!
