Okay, people, let's talk about Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken Season 3, or as I affectionately call it, "That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime and Maybe Felt a Little Underwhelmed...Sometimes."
The Slime is Back, Baby! (Sort Of)
Season 3 is here! Rimuru's back, bigger and blob-bier than ever. Everyone's excited, right?
I mean, I was. Don't get me wrong. But...did anyone else feel like it was a bit...slower than the previous seasons?
Political Intrigue: Yawn or Yay?
There's definitely more political maneuvering this season. Alliances are being formed, deals are being made, and Rimuru is trying to keep everything from imploding.
Is it just me, or did the endless council meetings start to feel like actual endless council meetings? You know, like the ones you try to avoid at work?
I get it. Building a nation is hard work. But sometimes, I just wanted to see more monster battles, less bureaucratic backstabbing. Sue me!
New Characters: Friend or Foe (or Just...There)?
We get a whole host of new characters this season. Some are cool. Some are...well, they're there.
I'm trying to be nice here. But I honestly can't remember half their names. Am I a bad fan?
"Is it just me, or did the endless council meetings start to feel like actual endless council meetings?"
The Rimuru Power-Up: Expected, But Still Awesome
Okay, let's be real. We all knew Rimuru was going to get even stronger. It's basically the anime law.
And he does! But does it feel as impactful as previous power-ups? Debatable. Maybe I'm just spoiled.
Seeing him obliterate enemies is always satisfying, though. I'll give you that.
Where's the Humor? Did it get Lost in the Sauce?
One of the things I loved about the earlier seasons was the humor. It was genuinely funny and lighthearted.
This season felt a bit...serious. Did the comedic timing take a vacation?
I missed the goofy antics. I wanted more Gobta shenanigans! Is that too much to ask?
The Animation: Still Gorgeous, But...
The animation is still top-notch. The fight scenes are visually stunning. No complaints there.
But did the overall art style feel slightly different? Maybe it's just me being overly critical.
Honestly, I'm probably just nitpicking at this point. It still looks amazing.
Overall: Still Good, But Not *Great* (Unpopular Opinion Alert!)
Look, I'm not saying Season 3 is bad. It's still a fun watch. I still love Rimuru and his crew.
But did it live up to the hype? For me, not quite. It felt a little...average.
Don't hate me! I'm just being honest. Maybe my expectations were too high after the first two seasons.
Maybe I just need to rewatch it. Or maybe I'm just craving more Veldora commentary. Yeah, that's probably it.
Ultimately, That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 3 is still worth watching. Just go in with slightly tempered expectations. And maybe bring a pillow for the council meetings. Just in case.
