My Secret Lair (Don't Tell Anyone!)
Okay, confession time. I think I found a secret dungeon. It's hidden, it's awesome, and only I can get in.
No, it's not literally a dungeon with monsters and treasure. Though, wouldn't that be cool?
My dungeon is more... metaphorical. It's my happy place. My zone. My escape.
Finding the Entrance (Good Luck!)
The entrance to my "dungeon" isn't marked with a skull and crossbones. It's probably something completely ordinary.
Maybe it's a specific corner of my favorite bookstore. Or a certain playlist I listen to on repeat. Or maybe it's just the feeling of putting on my comfiest pajamas after a long day.
Whatever it is, it's the key. It unlocks a part of my brain that's just...mine.
The Treasures Within (Pure Gold!)
Forget gold coins and jeweled swords. The treasures in my dungeon are far more valuable.
We're talking about peace and quiet. Uninterrupted time to think. The freedom to be completely, unapologetically myself.
That's priceless, right?
Guardian of the Gate (aka My Cat)
Every dungeon needs a guardian, and mine is Fluffy, my cat. She's a discerning gatekeeper.
She judges anyone who tries to interrupt my dungeon time. A stern look usually does the trick.
Though, sometimes she just wants cuddles. Even guardians have their weaknesses.
Why It's Only Mine (Sorry!)
Here's the thing: I think everyone has a "hidden dungeon". It's just that yours is probably different from mine.
Maybe you find it in a pottery class. Or when you're baking cookies. Or while hiking in the woods.
The important thing is that it's something you connect with. Something that recharges your batteries. Something that makes you feel good.
Unpopular Opinion: "Me Time" Is Essential
Okay, brace yourselves for my controversial take: "Me time" isn't selfish. It's absolutely necessary.
We're constantly bombarded with information and demands. We need a place to escape.
A place to recharge, to breathe, to just be.
Protecting Your Dungeon (Top Secret!)
The key to a good dungeon is keeping it sacred. Don't let anyone spoil it!
Guard your "me time" fiercely. Don't feel guilty about needing it.
Your mental health will thank you.
So, What's Your Dungeon? (I Won't Tell!)
I'm curious now! What's your hidden dungeon?
What activities make you feel centered and happy?
You don't have to tell me, of course. Keep it secret. Keep it safe. Just know that it's okay to have one. It's more than okay. It's vital.
Now, if you'll excuse me, Fluffy is giving me the "it's dungeon time" look. I'll see you all later. Maybe. If you can find me. Which you probably can't.
"The mind is its own place, and in itself can make a heaven of hell, a hell of heaven." - John Milton. Sounds like a pretty cool dungeon, if you ask me.
