Stripped of his reputation and his party member, Naofumi is completely alone. He can't even level up properly because he needs companions to do that.
He is stuck with nothing, and no one trusts him. At the brink of despair, he ventures into the darker corners of this new world.
This leads him to a slave trader, where he, in a desperate act, purchases a demi-human slave, Raphtalia.
