Okay, folks, let's talk This Is Us. Specifically, that sneaky Season 6, Episode 4 trailer. It's got me all sorts of worked up, and I need to share my feelings before I explode. Consider this a safe space, full of Pearson-sized emotions.
Deja Vu All Over Again?
Seriously, does anyone else feel like we're on a merry-go-round of Big Three drama? Don't get me wrong, I love these characters. But are we going to rehash the same conflicts for six seasons straight?
I swear, if I see one more flashback of Jack and Rebecca struggling with parenting while simultaneously being perfect, I might just scream into a pillow. A very fluffy, Pearson-approved pillow, of course.
The Nicky Factor
Uncle Nicky! My man! He's looking spry in the trailer, isn't he? I'm genuinely happy he's found some happiness. Though, let's be honest, finding happiness is basically a plot device on this show. It *always* gets ripped away eventually.
My unpopular opinion? I'm still not entirely convinced he's as innocent as he seems. There's something lurking in those twinkling eyes, I tell you! Maybe he secretly runs a kitten-smuggling ring. Okay, probably not, but a girl can dream of some unexpected plot twists, right?
Kate's Continued Journey
Kate is always such an interesting character. We see her navigating relationships, her children. I am curious where she will end up.
Speaking of relationships, is anyone else exhausted by the Kate and Toby saga? These two are either head-over-heels or at each other's throats. There's no in-between.
Randall, the Perpetual Worrywart
Ah, Randall. Bless his heart. He's always trying to save the world, one meticulously organized binder at a time. He is caring, honest and full of surprises.
But sometimes, I just want to tell him to chill out! Take a deep breath, Randall! Have a margarita! Everything is going to be... well, probably not okay, because this is This Is Us, but at least pretend for five minutes.
Kevin: Still Handsome, Still Lost
And then there's Kevin. The eternally handsome, emotionally stunted Kevin. Let's be real. He's the eye candy of the show.
He always seems to be searching for something. Validation? True love? A decent haircut? Who knows! But I'm willing to watch him stumble his way through life just because he's easy on the eyes.
Final Thoughts (and Mild Panic)
Okay, so maybe I'm being a little harsh. I do love This Is Us. I just think that it is time that everything be tied into a nice bow and be done.
The trailer, like all This Is Us trailers, is expertly crafted to tug at our heartstrings. Prepare for tears, folks. Lots and lots of tears. I am not sure I have the stomach for it anymore.
But hey, at least we can all cry together, right? Misery loves company, and we're all honorary members of the Pearson family now, whether we like it or not.
