Okay, folks, let's talk Walking Dead, specifically season 11 episode 9. And let's be honest, we all have THOUGHTS.
Did anyone else feel like... wait for it... not *that* much happened? I know, I know, unpopular opinion incoming!
The Calm Before the Storm (Maybe?)
This episode felt like everyone was just... milling around. Like a zombie convention without the brain-eating part. Just awkward small talk and shuffling.
We see more of the Commonwealth. Shiny and new, but definitely hiding something sinister under that pristine surface. You can smell the oppressive government, can't you?
Eugene is still lovestruck. Bless his heart. He’s writing letters, being adorable and naive. Someone protect this man!
Ezekiel: The Unofficial Mayor of Hope
Ezekiel's still working his charm at the clinic. King Ezekiel giving back to the community? We love to see it.
But, seriously, when is he going to fully address that tumor situation? Talk about leaving us hanging!
And then there's Princess. Ever the vibrant queen, trying to navigate Commonwealth rules. She is a ray of sunshine in the zombie apocalypse.
The Commonwealth: Red Flags Everywhere
Seriously, the Commonwealth is suspicious, right? All that forced "happiness" feels very dystopian. Like a zombie version of Pleasantville.
Mercer, though? He's cool. I'm liking his whole vibe. Is it just me, or is he the only sane one in that whole place?
The whole episode feels like table setting for a major conflict to come. Setting up the dominoes for the big fall of the Commonwealth.
Negan: Still Evolving?
We don’t see him in this specific episode. But, Negan. He's the wildcard, isn't he? He might be doing some good with Annie and the Riverbend crew.
It will be interesting to see if he will get his ultimate redemption in the end.
The Verdict: Good, But Not Great
Don't get me wrong, season 11 episode 9 wasn't *bad*. It just felt…underwhelming.
It was a little slow for my taste. Almost like a bridge episode stretching out the anticipation. Give me more action! More zombies! More drama!
Maybe my expectations were too high. After all, it is the final season. You would expect a rocket start, not a gentle morning stroll. But hey, at least it wasn't boring, right?
I'm not saying it was the worst episode, but it's definitely not one I'm rushing to rewatch. It felt like filler, prepping for bigger things. More plot progression and less lingering would be welcome.
But here is the thing, at the end of the day, I will still watch the next episode!
What do you think? Am I being too harsh? Or did you also feel like this episode was just...meh?
Let me know your unpopular opinions in the comments! Let's discuss!
And remember, no matter what, at least we're all watching the same zombies shuffle around!
In the end, let’s see how Walking Dead ends.
