The Elizabeth & Lucas Factor

Let's be real. Everyone was buzzing about Elizabeth and Lucas. Finally official! Hooray!

But did their initial happiness feel a little…too perfect? Like a perfectly frosted cupcake? It was delightful, sure. But where was the spice?

I missed the angst! I missed the stolen glances! I missed the feeling that their love was a hard-won treasure! Come on, writers, give me something to chew on!

The Business of Hope Valley

The whole "Hope Valley Mercantile" storyline felt a bit...dry. Did we really need so much focus on the logistics of running a general store?

I'm just saying, I tune in for the heartwarming moments. Not necessarily the inventory spreadsheets. Though, I must admit, Ned and Florence are always adorable.

Perhaps I’m alone in this, and I should go back and rewatch the episode carefully again to grasp what I missed.

New Beginnings…Or Just More of the Same?

The episode was all about new beginnings. Elizabeth and Lucas's new relationship, the town's continued growth. You know the drill.

But did it really feel like a new beginning? Or did it feel like a continuation of the same charming, slightly predictable storylines?

Here it is. My confession. I think Season 9 Episode 1 was a bit...boring. (Gasps from the audience!).

There, I said it! I know, I know, I'm probably going to be banished from Hope Valley fan clubs now.

I wasn't completely bored! I found the drama involving Nathan captivating. And I was eager to see Bill Avery solve the mysteries.

But Wait, There's More!

I am not saying I hated everything, okay? Seeing everyone in Hope Valley again was like visiting old friends. I love those characters!

Rosemary and Lee were their usual hilarious selves. I could never get tired of seeing their family story continue and develop. Their personalities never disappoint.

And honestly, any episode of *When Calls The Heart* is better than no episode. So, thank you, Hallmark!
