Okay, let's talk about Hulu + Live TV. Sixty channels, huh? That's the magic number they keep throwing around. Sounds like a lot, right?
So, What's Actually ON There?
You get your basics. ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox. The usual suspects. You know, the channels your grandma watches. (Love you, Grandma!).
Then there's ESPN, FS1, TBS, TNT. Sports fans, rejoice! Although, let's be honest, half the time you're scrolling through, looking for something, anything, that isn't a replay of a game from last Tuesday.
The Rest of the Gang
News channels galore! CNN, MSNBC, Fox News. Enough talking heads to make your head spin. Seriously, sometimes I think they just argue for the sake of arguing.
A scattering of entertainment channels? Check. USA, FX, Bravo. Get ready for endless reruns of "Law & Order" and reality TV. Not that I'm complaining... okay, maybe a little.
And then... the niche channels. A&E, History, Food Network. You know, the ones you accidentally stumble upon at 3 AM while searching for something to help you fall asleep.
The "Unpopular" Opinion: It's Not *That* Much
Here's where I get controversial. Sixty channels sounds impressive. But are they all *good* channels? That's the real question.
Think about it. How many channels do you actually watch regularly? Maybe, like, five? Ten, if you're feeling generous.
I'm pretty sure half of those "60 channels" are just playing infomercials at 3 AM. (Okay, maybe an exaggeration, but you get my point!). It's more like 20 good channels, surrounded by filler.
Is It Worth It?
That's the million-dollar question, isn't it? It depends on what you're looking for. If you're a sports fanatic, it might be a good deal.
If you just want basic network TV and a few cable staples, you might be better off with a cheaper streaming service. Or, dare I say it, an antenna!
Plus, remember those local channels they boast about? Sometimes the streaming quality is... questionable. Pixelated weather forecasts are my favorite.
Don't Get Me Wrong...
Hulu + Live TV isn't terrible! It's convenient. It's got a decent interface. And it's probably better than cable. (Anything is better than cable, right?).
But those 60 channels? Let's just say the quantity doesn't always equal quality. It’s a buffet, but some of the dishes have been sitting out a little too long.
Ultimately, it's about finding what works for you. So, do your research. Watch those free trials. And maybe, just maybe, you'll find those five or ten channels that make it all worthwhile.
Just try not to get sucked into another "Law & Order" marathon. Your sanity will thank you.
