Okay, Let's Talk About We Own This City Days
Seriously, what day of the week is "We Own This City" day? I have a theory. And it's probably controversial. Prepare yourselves.
It's not a Monday, that's for sure. Mondays are for fresh starts and pretending you're excited about emails. No room for corruption there.
Tuesdays: The "Maybe" Day
Tuesdays? Possibly. But Tuesdays still have some Monday hangover. People are still trying to be productive.
Too early in the week for things to fully go off the rails, you know?
Wednesdays: Hump Day Corruption?
Wednesdays? Nah. Hump day is too optimistic. People are looking forward to the weekend.
Besides, "We Own This City" energy is definitely not about getting over a hump.
Thursdays: Getting Warmer... Maybe?
Thursdays are close. The weekend is in sight. People start slacking off.
But even then, Thursday still feels a little… restrained. Like the bad decisions are simmering, not boiling over.
My Unpopular Opinion: Friday Is We Own This City Day
Here it is: Friday. Friday is the day. Don't @ me.
Think about it! Everyone's tired. No one cares anymore. The weekend is calling.
Rules? What rules? Budgets? Out the window! Moral compass? Taking a long weekend, apparently.
Friday is when the pressure valve bursts. The "I deserve this" mentality kicks in. And the "nobody's watching" delusion sets sail.
You know it's true. I see you nodding.
Plus, Friday is traditionally associated with… well, let’s just say less-than-stellar decision-making. Happy hour, anyone?
Evidence, You Say? I Have Evidence! (Sort Of)
Exhibit A: Think of any corruption scandal. Didn't it usually involve some kind of Friday afternoon backroom deal? I rest my case.
Exhibit B: Haven't you ever felt the urge to just...not care...on a Friday afternoon at work? That's the We Own This City spirit creeping in!
The Saturday/Sunday Alibi
Some might argue Saturday or Sunday. But that’s just cleanup. Or denial.
The real damage is done on Friday. Then everyone spends the weekend trying to cover their tracks.
In Conclusion: Let Friday Be Friday (But Maybe Watch Out For Bad Decisions)
So, there you have it. My completely unsubstantiated, yet totally believable, theory. We Own This City day is Friday.
It's a time for letting loose, pushing boundaries, and maybe bending the rules a little. Just don't get caught.
And maybe, just maybe, keep an eye on your colleagues on Friday afternoons. You never know who might be thinking they *We Own This City*.
