Boruto: Did We *Actually* Learn Anything? (My Unpopular Opinion)
Okay, folks, let's talk about the latest episode of Boruto. Were you on the edge of your seat? Or were you, like me, wondering if we accidentally switched to a filler episode about sentient ramen?
Seriously, sometimes I feel like I'm watching a ninja soap opera. All that teen angst and will-they-won't-they drama? I signed up for super-powered battles, not a relationship counseling session disguised as an anime.
The Plot Thickens (Or Maybe Just Jello Sets)
So, what actually happened? Well, Boruto did some stuff. Stuff that involved glowy eyes and probably some yelling.
And Sarada was there, being the smartest person in the room. Again. Seriously, give that girl a Nobel Prize already.
And then there was Mitsuki, being...Mitsuki. Still not entirely sure what his deal is, but he's loyal, I guess? Like a really, really loyal, slightly creepy, snake-powered best friend.
The "big bad" villain of the week mumbled some threats. Sound familiar? It does to me.
Unpopular Opinion Time: Where’s The Payoff?
Here's my hot take: I'm starting to feel like the story is spinning its wheels. We keep getting these hints of something HUGE, but it never quite lands.
It is like constantly promising a pizza, but serving up breadsticks every week instead. Delicious, yes. But… not pizza.
And, honestly, I'm getting a little breadsticked-out. This episode felt like a stepping stone. A stepping stone to what? I don't know! This is my unpopular opinion.
Character Development... Maybe?
Okay, to be fair, there were some moments of character development. Boruto is learning to be less of a brat, which is progress. Slow progress, but progress nonetheless.
And Sarada is grappling with the responsibilities of being a future Hokage. You go girl! You are awesome.
But, are these little bits enough to keep us invested? Maybe. Maybe not. Depends on how much you like breadsticks, I suppose.
That Cliffhanger Though... (Or Lack Thereof)
Every episode ends with a cliffhanger, right? Wrong. I barely felt a sense of suspense. I think I was more anxious about whether I put enough laundry detergent in the wash. Sad, but true.
I’m convinced the animators are just messing with us at this point. They probably sit around in a room, brainstorming the most anticlimactic ways to end an episode.
Final Verdict: Still Watching, But Questioning My Life Choices
So, will I keep watching Boruto? Yes, I will. I'm too invested at this point. Plus, maybe that pizza will finally arrive. It’s all a matter of hope.
Am I entirely satisfied with the direction the story is taking? Absolutely not. I need more action. I need more stakes. And I definitely need less filler.
But hey, at least it's something to talk about, right? What were your thoughts on the episode? Let me know in the comments! (And please, tell me I'm not the only one who feels this way!)
