Okay, Seriously, Did You SEE *What We Do in the Shadows* Season 3, Episode 9?
If you haven't, stop everything! I mean it, pause your taxes, tell your boss you need a "vampire emergency day," and go watch it. Because this episode, "A Farewell," is absolute gold.
Think of it as the emotional rollercoaster of the season cranked up to eleven. We're talking feels, laughs, and just the right amount of vampire ridiculousness all blended together.
Nandor's Midlife... Undead Life Crisis
Remember how Nandor was all mopey about not finding love? Yeah, well, it escalates. He decides the only solution is to peace out. He's hopping on a train, destination: who knows!
He's basically gone full *Eat, Pray, Love* but with more brooding and less pasta. You can almost see him in a turban, wandering the desert, searching for enlightenment, if enlightenment involved drinking blood, that is.
The best part? The housemates’ reactions are priceless. Nadja, ever the pragmatist, barely bats an eye. Laszlo, well, Laszlo is...Laszlo, and we'll get to him later.
Guillermo: Secret Bodyguard… Going Public?
Our sweet, perpetually put-upon Guillermo finally gets a chance to shine. And boy, does he ever! He's still protecting the vampires, of course, but he's getting bolder.
There's a scene where he single-handedly takes down a whole horde of other vampires who are trying to get Nandor. It's like watching a ballet of death, but with more wooden stakes.
You can't help but cheer for him. It's like seeing your shy friend finally win the karaoke contest – pure, unadulterated joy!
Laszlo's Big Reveal...and My Cracking Voice!
Okay, hold on to your hats, because this is where things get truly bonkers. And kind of tear-jerking, in a way that only *What We Do in the Shadows* can pull off.
It turns out that Laszlo has been acting weird because he knows something HUGE. Something so big it makes you want to shout at your TV screen (I may or may not have actually done that).
He's been secretly protecting someone very dear to him. The reveal is a genuine shocker, and it completely recontextualizes their relationship. I won’t spoil it, because seriously, you *need* to experience this firsthand.
Nadja: Holding Down the Fort (Again)
Let's not forget about Nadja! She's mostly focused on the Vampire Council and trying to keep everything from falling apart.
She's the glue holding the whole chaotic mess together, even when everyone else is off on their own weird adventures. Nadja deserves a raise!
Why This Episode is a Masterpiece
Seriously, though, this episode nails everything that makes the show so great. The humor is sharp, the characters are lovable (even at their worst), and there's a surprising amount of heart.
It's a reminder that even immortal beings have feelings, insecurities, and really, really weird relationship dynamics. This episode is fantastic, and if you haven’t watched it, please do.
So, go watch it! And then come back here and tell me what you thought, because I need someone to flail with about Laszlo's secret. Trust me; you won't regret it.
