When Do The Next Episodes Of Handmaid's Tale Come Out
Still Waiting for Gilead Updates? You're Not Alone!
Okay, let's be real. Are we still refreshing our streaming services, hoping for new episodes of The Handmaid's Tale? I know I am. It feels like forever since we last saw June & Co. dodging the Eyes and plotting rebellion.
Seriously, the anticipation is KILLING me! When do we get more of this dystopian drama? Is it next week? Next month? Next year?
The Great Handmaid's Tale Wait: A National Pastime?
I'm starting to think waiting for the next season is becoming a national pastime. Right up there with baseball and arguing about politics. Except this pastime involves significantly more nail-biting and existential dread.
And let’s face it: we're all kind of addicted. Who can resist the compelling characters and the what-will-happen-next suspense? Not me!
Maybe it's just me, but waiting for the next season is like waiting for Christmas... if Christmas involved potential torture and societal collapse. A very dark Christmas, indeed.
The Unpopular Opinion Nobody Wants to Admit
Ready for my (potentially) unpopular opinion? Sometimes, I think The Handmaid's Tale is too stressful. I know, I know, blasphemy!
But hear me out. After an episode, I need a solid hour of puppies and sunshine to recover. And maybe a large glass of wine (or two).
Don't get me wrong, I love the show. The acting is amazing, the story is gripping. But my blood pressure? Not so much. The intensity is high.
So maybe, just maybe, a slightly longer wait isn't the worst thing in the world for my personal well-being. Perhaps it gives me time to mentally prepare for the next wave of Gilead-induced anxiety. But do I really believe that? Probably not. I still want it NOW!
Hunting for Clues: Social Media Sleuthing
My detective skills have been put to the test, scouring social media for any hints about the next season's release date. Cast member interviews? Checked. Production company websites? Checked. Random internet forums? You betcha!
It's basically become a part-time job at this point. I’m pretty sure I could write a doctoral thesis on the release patterns of Hulu original series.
The search is so intense, I may have just seen June herself walking in the street the other day. Though, in hindsight, it was likely a woman wearing a red coat with a white bonnet. Wishful thinking?
While We Wait: Binge-Watching Alternatives (That Just Aren't the Same)
To fill the void, I've tried other shows. Dystopian dramas, strong female leads, political thrillers… nothing quite scratches the Handmaid's Tale itch.
They're good, don't get me wrong. But they're not Gilead good. Nothing compares to the unique blend of horror, hope, and handmaid fashion.
I even considered knitting a handmaid's bonnet, just to feel closer to the action. But then I remembered I can't knit. So, back to refreshing Hulu every five minutes.
So, fellow sufferers of Handmaid's-Tale-withdrawal-syndrome, let us unite! Let us share our theories, our hopes, and our desperate pleas for a release date. Maybe, just maybe, if we collectively manifest it, Hulu will hear our cries.
Until then, Under His Eye...and Under My Blanket, stress-watching and waiting.
