Okay, let's talk about Sword Art Online Progressive. More specifically, when in the name of Aincrad are we getting more of it in America?
I feel like I've been waiting approximately forever. Has it really been that long, or am I just impatient? Probably both.
The Dubious Dub Dilemma
Look, I'm not going to lie. I'm a dub watcher. Sue me! I like to multitask while watching anime. Reading subtitles? That requires, you know, attention.
And honestly, sometimes the voice acting in the dub is just plain *better*. Unpopular opinion, I know. But I stand by it.
So, when is the English dub of the latest Progressive movie landing on our shores? Your guess is as good as mine.
The Japanese Release Dates: A False Hope?
We've seen the Japanese release dates. We know Sword Art Online Progressive: Scherzo of Deep Night came out over there ages ago. Fantastic.
But does that mean anything for us poor souls stuck in the American anime void? Nope. Just more waiting. It’s like being trapped in Aincrad without a way to log out.
It's a cruel joke, really. Like dangling a delicious virtual steak in front of us and then snatching it away.
Streaming Services: Our Potential Saviors (Maybe)
Could Crunchyroll or Netflix be our knights in shining armor? They've streamed SAO before.
But they’re also notorious for their unpredictable release schedules. One day it shows up, the next it's gone without a trace. Licensing agreements are weird, man.
Seriously, what is the holdup? Are they negotiating with Asuna herself for the rights?
The Theatrical Release Mirage
There was a theatrical release for Aria of a Starless Night, which was awesome! Going to see SAO on the big screen? Yes, please!
But the theatrical release of *Scherzo of Deep Night*? It was a blip on the radar. Did it even *happen* in most of America?
I checked local theaters. Nothing. Is my area a dead zone for quality anime releases? It’s starting to feel that way.
The Desperate Search for Answers
I've scoured the internet. I've checked anime news sites. I've even asked my local anime store clerk (poor guy probably regrets knowing me now).
The answer? A resounding "we don't know." The anime gods are silent.
Are they enjoying watching us suffer? Probably.
My Unpopular Opinion: It's Taking Too Long
Okay, here it is: It's taking WAY too long! Other anime get dubbed and released relatively quickly. Why is SAO Progressive such a slow burn?
I understand there are logistical hurdles. Licensing, dubbing, distribution... I get it. But come on!
I am losing my sanity here. Please, anime overlords, have mercy! Give us the Progressive dub. We’re begging you.
In the Meantime...
Guess I'll just rewatch the first Progressive movie for the tenth time. And maybe start learning Japanese. (Just kidding… mostly.)
Seriously, though, if anyone has any insider information, please share. My sanity depends on it.
Until then, I'll be here, patiently (and not-so-patiently) waiting. May Kirito guide us all.
