Okay, let's get real. We're all wondering the same thing: When are the Gemstones back?
Season 2 gave us epic baptisms and even more ridiculous family drama. I need more! My Sundays feel empty without the Gemstone chaos.
The Burning Question: Season 3 When?
HBO hasn't given us a solid date yet. But we can speculate, right? I'm good at speculating. Mostly about what's for dinner.
Season 1 premiered in August 2019. Season 2 dropped in January 2022. Notice a pattern? Nope. Me neither!
The pandemic definitely threw a wrench in things. So, judging by past releases... your guess is as good as mine.
The Unofficial Investigation
I've been doing some serious (not really) research. By "research," I mean scrolling through Twitter and Reddit.
Some fans are hoping for late 2023. Others are thinking early 2024. Honestly, I'd take it whenever they give it to us.
My unpopular opinion? I'd rather wait and get something amazing. Than have something rushed and disappointing. I'm patient... mostly.
Think about it: Danny McBride and the crew put so much into this show. Writing, acting, those insane costumes! It takes time!
What We *Do* Know (Sort Of)
HBO renewed the show for Season 3. That's the most important thing! So, new episodes are coming. Eventually.
The cast is likely returning. I can't imagine a Gemstones without John Goodman, Edi Patterson, or Adam Devine.
And of course Danny McBride as Jesse Gemstone himself. He is just too good as Jesse. Pure Gold!
What Can We Expect? (More Speculation!)
More family feuds, obviously. More over-the-top church services. More questionable life choices by the Gemstones.
Maybe we'll see some new characters shake things up. Perhaps a rival megachurch family? The possibilities are endless.
And the music! Oh, the music. I still catch myself humming "Misbehavin'" from time to time. Earworm city!
I really want to know how they will handle the new challenges. This family has a long history of making bad decisions.
While We Wait...
Rewatch Seasons 1 and 2. It's never a bad time to revisit the Gemstone's glory.
Listen to the soundtrack. Get your gospel on! (Or, you know, pretend to get your gospel on.)
Follow the cast on social media. Maybe they'll drop some hints. Or at least post some funny behind-the-scenes stuff.
I know the wait is tough. But trust me, it'll be worth it. The Righteous Gemstones is a comedic masterpiece. In my humble (and slightly biased) opinion.
So, keep the faith. (Pun intended.) Season 3 is coming. We just don't know exactly when. But we know it will be glorious. And probably ridiculous. Just the way we like it!
I think this family will go to war. And when they do it will be one of the best moments we will ever see on TV.
Until then let's keep hope that we are close to seeing the next adventure. And that the Gemstones are ready to make more of a mess.
