The Voices Behind the Burps (and Existential Dread)
Okay, let's talk Rick and Morty. We all love it, right? But have you ever REALLY thought about who’s bringing these insane characters to life?
Dan Harmon: The Brain (Probably)
First off, we've got Dan Harmon. He's basically the mad scientist behind the whole operation. Think of him as the Rick Sanchez of the writing room, maybe with slightly less alcoholism... maybe.
Harmon also co-created Community. See a pattern here? He likes weird, meta stuff. Good for us!
Justin Roiland: The Voice Master (Wubba Lubba Dub Dub!)
Then there's Justin Roiland. Oh boy, where to start? He's the voice of both Rick AND Morty. Talk about range! Or maybe just a really good understanding of belching.
He's a total genius. Seriously, try doing a Rick impression. It’s harder than it looks (and sounds).
"Aw jeez, Rick, I don't know about this article..." - Hypothetical Morty
The Rest of the Family (and Beyond!)
But wait! There's more! The Smith family wouldn't be complete without its other members. Who voices them, you ask?
Chris Parnell is the eternally pathetic Jerry. You know, the guy we all secretly (or not so secretly) judge. We feel bad for him, but also…not really.
Sarah Chalke nails Beth. She's the horse surgeon with serious daddy issues. Let's be honest, Beth is probably the most emotionally stable of the bunch, which is saying something.
And finally, Spencer Grammer rounds out the family as Summer. She's the typical teenage sister, desperate for attention and constantly rolling her eyes. But deep down, she's got a good heart, even if she hides it under layers of sarcasm.
The Unsung Heroes (and Hilarious Guest Stars)
But it's not just the main cast that makes Rick and Morty so amazing. So many talented actors lend their voices to the show's bizarre supporting characters.
Keep an ear out for guest appearances from people like Stephen Colbert, Christina Hendricks, and even Elon Musk (as Elon Tusk, of course). The show is filled with great voices.
These are the people who bring the weird and wonderful world of Rick and Morty to life, one burp and existential crisis at a time.
Unpopular Opinion Time (You've Been Warned!)
Okay, here it comes. I think Justin Roiland's non-Rick/Morty voices are secretly hilarious. Sure, they’re mostly one-off characters, but they're often gold. Fight me!
What do you think? Do you agree with my hot take? Or am I completely off my rocker? Let me know in the comments!
Wubba Lubba Dub Dub! (I had to, okay?).
