The M*A*S*H Gang: Where Are They Now? (A Lighthearted Check-in)
M*A*S*H. What a show! It ran forever, right? But who from that crazy crew is still kicking it with us?
The Core Crew: Survivors
Let's start with the good news. Some of our favorites are still around! Alan Alda, aka Hawkeye, is still making us laugh and think. He's a legend, and I'm convinced he's found the elixir of youth.
Mike Farrell (B.J. Hunnicutt) is also still with us. Maybe all that apple pie kept him going. He's been busy with activism and… well, not operating, thankfully!
Loretta Swit, our tough-as-nails Hot Lips Houlihan, is still around too! Let's be real, she practically *was* the show for a lot of us. Don't @ me!
The Fallen: Gone But Not Forgotten
Sadly, we've lost some key players. McLean Stevenson (Henry Blake) left us way too soon. Anyone else still cry when they think about that chopper scene?
Wayne Rogers (Trapper John) also passed. He and Alda had amazing chemistry. Those were the days of peak M*A*S*H hijinks!
Larry Linville (Frank Burns), the guy you loved to hate, is also no longer with us. He played the role perfectly, making you want to throw things at your TV screen. That takes talent!
Sidekicks and Supporting Stars
William Christopher (Father Mulcahy) brought heart to the 4077th. A truly good soul both on and off screen. He's greatly missed.
Harry Morgan (Colonel Potter) became the father figure we all needed. Can we all agree he was a way better Colonel than Blake? Unpopular opinion, I know!
Jamie Farr (Klinger) and his dresses were iconic. Sadly, he's no longer with us, but his comedic timing lives on in reruns.
The "Oh Yeah, That Guy!" Category
Remember Radar O'Reilly? Gary Burghoff is still alive! He's kind of flown under the radar (pun intended) since the show ended.
And what about the other nurses? They came and went so fast it's hard to keep track. But many were still around!
My Hot Take on the Whole Thing
M*A*S*H was more than just a show; it was a cultural phenomenon. It's amazing some of the cast are still here to share memories. I honestly would watch a new season of them reminiscing together. Just them sitting and talking! Is that too much to ask?
The show may be over, but the memories (and the reruns) will last forever. Let's raise a glass (of grape Nehi, maybe?) to the cast, both living and gone. Thanks for the laughs, the tears, and the questionable medical practices!
"I want to believe that people will still be laughing at M*A*S*H 200 years from now." - Alan AldaLet's hope he's right!
