Officially, it was always planned as a trilogy. Three books, three seasons. Done and dusted.
Also, let’s be real, those special effects probably weren't cheap. Making a whole new season from scratch? Yikes.
But, Hear Me Out… Unpopular Opinion Time!
Okay, I know, I know. It’s supposed to be over. But can we all just admit season 3 felt… rushed?
So much happened! Babies! Time travel! Big battles! It felt like they crammed a whole book (or two) into just a few episodes.
I’m not saying it was *bad*, just… could have been better with more breathing room.
Reasons Why a Season 4 Could (Maybe, Possibly, Perhaps) Work
The books are done, sure. But that doesn't mean the story has to end. Think of all the spin-off potential!
Diana and Matthew have those powerful twins, Rebecca and Philip. They are ripe for teenage angst and magical shenanigans.
Plus, the world is established. The actors are amazing. All they need is a good plot.
Maybe a story about a new threat to the witches, vampires, and demons? Or perhaps, a deeper dive into the Congregation’s politics?
Think of it! New characters! New mysteries! More of Matthew Goode smoldering on screen!
Okay, maybe that last one is just me. But still, the possibilities are endless!
The Verdict? Probably Not. But a Girl Can Dream
Realistically, the chances of a season 4 are slim. Everyone involved has probably moved on to other projects.
Teresa Palmer is busy. Matthew Goode is probably off being charming somewhere else. And the showrunners are likely developing new shows.
But hey, never say never, right? Stranger things have happened (pun intended).
If there *was* a season 4, I’d definitely watch it. Even if it was terrible. Just to see more of that world.
So, to wrap it up: Will A Discovery of Witches have a season 4? My head says no. But my heart? My heart whispers, “Maybe… just maybe.”
And sometimes, hope is all we need. Even if that hope involves Diana Bishop and a whole lot of magic.
