So, Raised by Wolves. Remember that show? It had androids. It had space. It had a whole lotta weirdness.
The question on everyone's lips (or maybe just mine): Will there be a season 3? HBO Max (RIP) canceled it ages ago.
The Hopefuls
Some fans are still clinging to hope. They're petitioning. They're theorizing. Bless their hearts.
Maybe another streaming service will swoop in? Stranger things have happened. But, realistically?
My Unpopular Opinion
Here's where I might lose some of you. Are you ready? I'm not sure we need a season 3.
Don't get me wrong. I enjoyed the first season. It was unique, intriguing, and visually stunning.
But then... season 2 happened. And things got... complicated. Like, REALLY complicated.
Snakes giving birth to flying snake babies? Time travel? Mother becoming some weird, ancient sea monster?
It started to feel like the writers were just throwing ideas at the wall. Hoping something would stick.
Lost in the Sauce?
The original premise, the androids raising human children, got lost. It was buried under layers of mythology and religious allegory.
I mean, I appreciate ambition. But sometimes, less is more. Remember the KISS principle?
Maybe the cancellation was a blessing in disguise? A chance to preserve the good parts of Raised by Wolves?
Let's Face the Music
Let's be real. Season 2 wasn't exactly a critical darling. Many viewers felt the same way as I do.
The ratings weren't exactly stellar. Streaming services care about numbers, like it or not.
So, while I admire the dedication of the fans... I think it's time to let go. Move on to new android-related adventures.
A Fitting End (Maybe?)
The ending of season 2 was…abrupt. It left a lot of questions unanswered. But maybe that's okay?
Sometimes, a little mystery is better than a convoluted explanation. Some stories are best left unfinished.
Think of it as an art piece. An unfinished sculpture. It invites speculation, discussion, and personal interpretation.
Instead of demanding more, maybe we should appreciate what we got? Those stunning visuals, the compelling performances, the initial intrigue?
Moving On
Plus, the actors probably have other projects they want to work on. Amanda Collin (Mother) is amazing. I want to see her in other roles!
Same with Abubakar Salim (Father). Talented people deserve to spread their wings. Not be stuck on a show that might be past its prime.
So, Raised by Wolves fans, I salute you. But I also gently suggest...acceptance. Perhaps a rewatch of season 1?
Let's cherish the good memories. And maybe, just maybe, find a new show to obsess over. Plenty of great sci-fi out there!
