Horimiya Season 2: Copium or Coming Soon?
Okay, let's talk about it. The big question: will we ever get a Season 2 of Horimiya?
I know, I know. Some of you are already sharpening your pitchforks. Hear me out.
The (Adorable) Elephant in the Room
The first season was, let's face it, pretty great. We got our fill of Hori being secretly scary and Miyamura becoming less of a gloomy emo kid. What's not to love?
They covered a lot of the manga, though! This is the major argument against a season 2. Almost everything was already squeezed into the first season.
But...did they really cover *everything*?
My Unpopular Opinion (Brace Yourselves!)
Here it comes: I don’t think we *need* a full-blown Season 2. There, I said it!.
Don't get me wrong. I adore Horimiya. Hori and Miyamura are the cutest, most awkward couple.
But sometimes, things are perfect as they are. Did Toy Story 4 really need to exist?
There's something to be said for leaving a good thing alone. Before it jumps the shark. (Does anime even have sharks to jump?).
But Wait! There's Hope (Maybe)
Okay, I’m not a complete monster. A short OVA series? Yes, please!
Give us some sweet little side stories. Show us what the other characters are up to. Let's see more of Remi and Sakura!
Think of it: little snippets of fluff and humor. We'd get our fix without diluting the main story's impact. Pure gold!
The Copium Corner
Look, I’m not ruling out a Season 2 entirely. The anime industry is wild. Anything can happen. (Except maybe a decent live-action *Dragonball* movie. We're still traumatized.)
Maybe some studio exec is reading this right now, frantically greenlighting a new season. One can dream!
However, if we *do* get one, I hope they focus on original stories. Explore new dynamics and relationships. Expand the Horimiya universe.
In Conclusion: Let's Be Realistic (and Slightly Hopeful)
Will there be a Season 2 of Horimiya? Probably not.
Am I secretly hoping for one anyway? Maybe just a *little* bit.
Until then, I'll be rewatching the first season and dreaming of tiny Remi spin-offs. And maybe writing some fanfiction (don’t judge!).
After all, isn't a little bit of yearning what makes life interesting?
So, fellow Horimiya fans, what do *you* think? Season 2 or no season 2? Let's debate in the comments!
And if we get a Season 2, remember who called it first! I expect royalties in the form of cute anime merch.
