Is It Just Me, Or...?
Okay, hear me out. Sometimes, I feel like I'm living a totally different movie than everyone else.
My life? It's... good. Really good.
Sunshine and Rainbows? Maybe.
No, I'm not saying it's all unicorns and glitter. There are bills to pay. There are errands to run. Life, you know?
But honestly? I kind of dig it.
Maybe it's because I've learned to find the fun in the mundane. Or maybe I just have a really good filter.
The Secret Ingredient (Spoiler: It's Not Really a Secret)
I think the real difference is this: I embrace the things that make me, well, me.
I unapologetically pursue my passions. I surround myself with people who lift me up. And I say 'yes' to adventures, big and small.
And yes, I do... stuff. Things that make me happy.
Hold on, What Kind of "Stuff?"
Before you picture me scaling mountains or skydiving, let's clarify. My "stuff" is pretty low-key.
It's binge-watching a terrible reality show after a long day. It's spending an afternoon reading a book in a sunny park.
It's eating an entire bag of chips in one sitting. (Don't judge.)
The Art of the 'Do'
I call it "doping" my life. Not in the literal sense, of course! Think of it as adding little sprinkles of joy to my everyday existence.
It's about actively seeking out the things that make me feel good. The things that make me feel alive.
And then… doing them!
Is It Selfish? Maybe. Is It Effective? Absolutely.
Some might say it's selfish to focus so much on my own happiness. To prioritize my own joy.
But I disagree. I think it's essential. Because when I'm happy, I'm a better friend, a better partner, a better human.
Plus, if I'm not enjoying my own life, how can I possibly expect to enjoy anyone else's?
An Unpopular Opinion, Perhaps?
I realize this might sound a little... Pollyanna-ish. A little too optimistic.
And I know that not everyone has the privilege to just "choose" happiness. I get that.
But even in the midst of hardship, I believe there's always room for a little "doping." A little sprinkle of joy.
Join the Club (If You Want!)
So, is my life dope? I think so.
And am I actively trying to dope it up even more? You bet.
Maybe you should try it sometime. You might just surprise yourself.
Or, you know, don't. It's your life.
Do you.
But if you happen to find yourself smiling a little more, laughing a little louder, and feeling a little lighter... maybe you'll know why.
And maybe, just maybe, you'll realize that your life is pretty dope too.
Just saying. 😉
