Okay, people, gather 'round! Let's talk about a serious situation. A situation so dire, so frankly unacceptable, that I felt compelled to write about it.
It involves the Fab Four. And a streaming service we all know and love (or, at least, tolerate for the Marvel content). I'm talking about the agonizing absence of Get Back on Disney Plus!
Where Did Our Beatles Bliss Go?
Remember those glorious days? When we could just fire up Disney Plus and be transported back to 1969? We could hang out in a chilly Twickenham studio with John, Paul, George, and Ringo.
Witnessing their creative process unfold, maybe even grabbing a virtual cuppa with them? Well, those days seem to be...gone? Vanished? Poof!
I went to watch it the other day, ready for a lovely Beatles binge. Only to find… NOTHING. Just a gaping hole where eight hours of pure musical magic used to be.
Is This a Bad Dream?
I checked my internet connection. Nope, working fine. I restarted my device. Nada. I even asked my cat, Mittens, if she’d accidentally deleted it (she looked offended, by the way).
Then the horrifying realization dawned on me: it's *gone*. Get Back, the Peter Jackson masterpiece, the thing that single-handedly got me through last winter, is nowhere to be found.
I feel betrayed. Like someone stole my favorite comfy socks, filled them with cold broccoli, and then told me to have a nice day.
A Call to Action!
This cannot stand! We, the people, deserve to have our Get Back viewing rights restored! I'm starting a petition.
I'm writing strongly worded letters to Disney Plus customer service. I might even stage a (peaceful, socially distanced) protest outside their headquarters, armed with nothing but a ukulele and a dream.
Okay, maybe not the protest. But the other things are definitely happening. We need to flood their inboxes with messages! Tweet at them! Post on their Facebook page!
Let them know that we're not happy! We will not be silenced! We demand the return of Get Back!
Possible Explanations (Maybe?)
Of course, there are some (completely unacceptable) reasons why Get Back might be missing. Maybe they’re doing some kind of fancy remastering? Adding even *more* footage?
That would be amazing, of course. I would forgive them instantly. But until then, I'm remaining cautiously optimistic and extremely grumpy.
Perhaps it’s a licensing issue? Some bizarre legal tangle involving Apple Corps, the Beatles' estate, and a particularly stubborn accountant? Who knows!
The Power of the Fandom
Whatever the reason, we need to make our voices heard. We, the devoted fans of the Beatles and epic documentaries, must unite!
We can do this! We have the power! We have the combined viewing hours of a thousand suns! (Or, you know, at least a few hundred.)
So, join me in this quest! Let’s bring back Get Back! Let’s restore balance to the streaming universe! Let’s… well, let’s just watch the Beatles be awesome again, okay?
Think about it: Imagine revisiting that rooftop concert. Witnessing the birth of "Get Back" itself. Experiencing the sheer joy of Paul McCartney's basslines.
That’s what we're fighting for! And I, for one, will not rest until Get Back is back where it belongs: on Disney Plus, ready and waiting for our viewing pleasure.
