Whatever Happened to Our Season 7 Crush, "Top Chef" DC?
Remember "Top Chef" Season 7, filmed in our nation's capital? It feels like ages ago. So, what are those chefs up to now? Let’s dive in and see!
The Winner: Kevin Sbraga
Kevin Sbraga snagged the top spot. He opened some restaurants. Then some closed. It happens, right?
These days, he seems to be focusing on consulting. He is also doing private events. Good for him!
The Runner-Up: Angelo Sosa
Oh, Angelo Sosa, the comeback kid. He brought the drama, and the skill. Remember his intense focus?
He's still cooking and consulting. He even wrote a cookbook! Looks like the "Top Chef" exposure really helped him.
Ed Cotton: Fan Favorite (Maybe?)
Ed Cotton always seemed solid. Did anyone else think he was underrated? I kind of did.
He’s been involved in some impressive restaurant ventures. He’s worked with big names. Not too shabby!
Tiffany Derry: The Underdog
Tiffany Derry was a force! Her journey was inspiring. She cooked with passion.
She's now a successful restaurateur and TV personality. She even advocates for food justice. Talk about using your platform for good!
Kenny Gilbert: The Charmer
Kenny Gilbert was always smiling. His food looked delicious. I wanted to try it all!
He's opened restaurants showcasing Southern cuisine. He makes it his own. Sounds delicious!
Kelly Liken: The Hometown Girl
Kelly Liken represented Colorado well. Remember her farm-to-table approach? She was ahead of the curve.
She closed her restaurant in Vail. Now she is focusing on family. Sometimes life takes you in different directions.
Amanda Baumgarten: Gone Too Soon?
Did Amanda Baumgarten get eliminated too early? I thought she had potential. Anyone else agree?
She's still cooking and doing her thing. She showcases her talents at various events. I'd love to see her back on TV!
And the Rest...
What about the others? They're out there, cooking and creating. They are making their mark on the culinary world!
Maybe they're running food trucks. Maybe they're teaching cooking classes. Perhaps they're just enjoying a well-deserved break. Who knows!
My Unpopular Opinion
Okay, here’s my hot take: Season 7 was… fine. Not the best, not the worst. It was just there.
Don't get me wrong, there were talented chefs. But the drama felt a little forced. Did anyone else feel that way?
The Legacy of "Top Chef" DC
Ultimately, "Top Chef" gave these chefs a boost. It gave them exposure. They ran with it!
"Top Chef" is a platform." – Said someone, probably.
So, next time you see one of these names, remember Season 7. Give them a little nod. They earned it!
Even if you thought it was just "fine," like me. 🤫
