Okay, let's talk Attack on Titan. Specifically, Season 4. When did it actually drop? It feels like a lifetime ago, right?
The Great Attack on Titan Time Warp
Remember 2020? What a year! Besides, you know, *everything* else that happened, anime fans were glued to their screens.
We were all waiting to see how the heck Eren was going to handle things. Honestly, 2020 feels like a distant, hazy memory.
Part 1: The Before Times
Attack on Titan: The Final Season Part 1 (yes, they called it that!) officially premiered in December 2020. Finally! The wait felt excruciating.
We were all collectively screaming at our TVs. So many questions! So little time! It was truly a wild ride.
Plus, wasn't there some studio change? I think *MAPPA* stepped in, and the animation style definitely had a slightly different vibe.
Part 2: The Saga Continues
But wait, there's more! Because one part of a final season is never enough, right? Enter Attack on Titan: The Final Season Part 2.
That one came out in January 2022. Another year, another wave of emotional trauma courtesy of Hajime Isayama.
Seriously, I think my therapist should send him a bill. All those plot twists! My heart couldn't take it anymore.
Part 3 (aka The Final Chapters): The Endless Finale
Oh, but we're not done yet! The "final season" decided it needed *more* parts. So, we got Attack on Titan: The Final Chapters.
These were released in two parts as well! Part 1 aired in March 2023. Part 2 was in November 2023.
By this point, I'd lost all sense of time. Was I even still the same person who started watching this show? I felt so old!
Unpopular Opinion Time!
Okay, here's where I might lose some of you. Ready?
I think the constant splitting of the final season actually hurt the pacing. The anticipation became exhausting instead of exciting.
Anyone else feel that way? It felt a bit…milked. Give us the whole potato, not just little chips every few months!
The End? (Probably Not)
So, there you have it. The convoluted, multi-part, seemingly never-ending journey of Attack on Titan Season 4.
Trying to explain the release dates to someone who isn't a die-hard fan? Good luck! It's a complex web of parts and chapters.
But hey, at least we got to witness one of the most epic anime endings (debatedly, of course!). And that's something, right?
Who knows? Maybe in a few years, they'll announce a sequel series set on another island. Attack on Titan: The Next Generation anyone?
I'm only half-kidding. You know they would!
For now, though, I think I need a long break from titans and existential dread. Maybe I'll watch something lighthearted...like Death Note.
