Okay, let's be real. We're all secretly wondering the same thing about The Last Duel. When will it finally grace our HBO Max screens?
I mean, come on. We've waited long enough, right?
The Great Wait: A Comedy in Many Acts
It feels like ages since The Last Duel was in theaters. Remember when we actually went to movie theaters? Those were the days.
Now, we just want to snuggle up on the couch with some popcorn. And watch Adam Driver brood in medieval times, of course.
So, where is it? Why is HBO Max playing hard to get with this one?
Theories Abound! (Probably Wrong Ones)
My first theory? Ridley Scott is personally holding the digital release hostage. He's probably making sure every pixel is perfect.
Or maybe, just maybe, Ben Affleck and Matt Damon are having a secret rock-paper-scissors tournament. The winner decides the streaming date.
Okay, those are probably wrong. But a girl can dream, right?
More realistically, it’s probably something boring like complicated distribution agreements. Boooring!
An Unpopular Opinion (Brace Yourselves)
Here's my confession. I didn't *love* The Last Duel in theaters. Don't hate me!
It was...long. And kind of depressing. But I'm willing to give it another shot. On my couch. With unlimited snacks.
Maybe the small screen will make it feel less epic and more… digestible? Is that the right word?
Why I Still Care (Despite Myself)
Look, I’m a sucker for a historical drama. And I admire Ridley Scott's commitment to, well, everything.
Plus, I need to know if I missed something the first time around. Was I too distracted by Jodie Comer's amazing performance to appreciate the nuanced storytelling?
And okay, fine, Adam Driver. He can brood at me any day.
HBO Max, Please Hear Our Cries!
So, HBO Max, if you're listening (or reading, or whatever), please release The Last Duel soon.
We're tired of waiting. We're tired of speculating. We just want to watch the movie!
And if you could throw in some behind-the-scenes features, that would be great. I want to know how they made Ben Affleck's hair look so… medieval.
In the meantime, I'll be over here, refreshing the HBO Max page every five minutes. Just in case.
Wishful thinking, maybe? But hey, a girl can dream, right?
Maybe it's all a simulation and The Last Duel is only available in another dimension. Just putting it out there.
So, until that glorious day arrives, we'll just have to keep re-watching Game of Thrones. It’s not quite the same, but it has swords, right?
Fingers crossed, everyone!
